These guards are sized exactly as advertised, and they are the thickest guards I have ever seen. Although they aren't made of copper, they seem like they would not corrode easily, They are not attracted to a magnet. All edges are smooth. Additionally, the screws provided are the correct button-head type, and they are 3/4" in length. They will not go all the way through the front of your birdhouse. They are not attracted to a magnet, so I am guessing they are made of stainless steel. Of all the guards I have used, these are the best. (The pure copper guards I have purchased in the past are very good, but they are, understandably, much more expensive.) The 1-1/2" holes are perfect for Eastern Bluebirds or Flying Squirrel nesting boxes.
